Eve & Dave

Every term we link up with Burwell Baptist Church and run separate events for girls and boys. The girls group 'Eve' meets at St Mary's and the boys head over to the Baptist Church for their group 'Dave'.  These events usually have a theme and we talk about  the things that matter to young people, for instance our last ‘Eve’ day was about love and friendship and the boys had the chance to go motor biking. However, mainly it is just a chance for the girls to hang with the girls and the boys with the boys. And at the girls event there is usually chocolate fondue... The next events are to be confirmed soon so watch this space!

Churches Together Youth Alpha

 For the last two years Churches Together in Burwell has been running Youth Alpha. This year was really exciting as the young people ran it for themselves and did a brilliant job! Every week a different young person led the talk, organised games, worship and helped set up the room and serve the food.

We started off the course with a trip to the Youth Alpha Conference at Holy Trinity Brompton. This helped equip all of us with the skills, vision and passion for running Youth Alpha. We had an Introductory Event for our new comers at Pizza Express with a guest speaker. Our regular sessions were then held at Burwell Baptist Church for 8 weeks.  

 We finished off the course with our Holy Spirit day outing in Aldeburgh, Suffolk. We spent the morning listening to talks by our guest speaker, then headed to the beach for famous fish and chips at lunch. And in the afternoon we had a trip to Thorpeness boating lake.
