______________________________ FOR YOUR PRAYERS: - In this Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, we pray for fellow Christians of all denominations across the world who labour to spread the good news of Christ Jesus – especially if faced with ridicule, prejudice, hostility & violence. - we pray for all who have suffered in the earthquake in Haiti, especially those who are homeless, the sick & injured, and those who grieve the loss of loved ones. Strengthen us in faith and inspire us in reaching out to them that we may help to heal those who are broken in body or spirit. - We give thanks for the fellowship & friendship we share with those from other churches in this community and for all we do together - and for ‘alpha’ as it gets under way. - We pray for the ministry teams in all our churches, and for their respective councils and decision making bodies. - for meetings this week of the Fordham & Quy Deanery Chapter, and Synod, giving thanks especially for the Deanery Youth Worker project moving forward and with an appointment expected later in the year. - We give thanks for all the support networks we enjoy with the wider church in the deanery, diocese and beyond, and for organisations such as CMS, Church Army and Mothers’ Union pooling resources and serving the Anglican Church worldwide. - for Bishop Anthony & Sheila beginning retirement, with thanksgiving for all they have given to this diocese. - for those in special need: Grace Bruce, Jean Pratt, Stephen Thacker (& family), Chloe Saunders, Irene Plumb, Vera & Len Lawrance, Anne Cooke (nee Griffiths), Ann Fuller, Renee Haslam, Vera Baker (Bella Swann’s Great Grandmother). - For the bereaved including the family and friends of Private Robert Hayes (19), Rhoda Ridgard, James Conn and those remembering anniversaries of death at this time.
