FOR YOUR PRAYERS:
- New Year Prayer - Grant O Lord, that as the years
change, we may find rest in your changelessness. May
we greet this new year bravely, sure in the knowledge of
your abiding love, and that, although life changes around
us, you are the same yesterday, today and forever;
guiding with your wisdom, protecting with your power,
leading with your light; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- at the start of this new year, for God’s strength and
healing in all those areas where we need to make a
fresh start, and for a renewed determination to ‘walk in
the light of the Lord!’
- that the beginning of a new year will mark renewed
efforts to resolve all conflicts, political and personal.
- for the Christians and Muslims in Nigeria, killed on
Christmas day; that their deaths will not be in vain, and
that authorities will tackle the problem of terrorism.
- for the people of North Korea: that in the wake of
political change, hope can be found for a new, peaceful
and humane future.
- for this parish: for those living in Newmarket Road,
Green Lane (Burwell), Chapel Lane (Reach).
- for those in special need: Chloe Saunders, Jean
Fearn, Ken Withers, James Rae, Ray Elwood, Gina
Parr, Jo Debenham, Ken Stoneley, Alastair Grant, Noel
Tweddle
- For the family and friends of Ramon Abbs and those
remembering anniversaries of death at this time
