Reflection Evening

Burwell Mothers’ Union Reflection Evening in St Mary’s Church – July 7^th 2010

Prayer stations were set up around St Mary’s Church to reflect the wide ranging needs of communities and the response by the Mothers’ Union.

The ‘journey’ started with God Knows Us by Name taken from Isaiah 43 v1 ‘I have called you by name you are mine’.

The Relief Fund Display showed a world map with locations of disasters and a tree showing the human suffering and the hope brought by for example clean water and survival kits.

Other themes included Families, Prison work, Literacy and Development, Faith and Spirituality, Overseas Links and Family Life Project.

At the end of the evening the prayers for the Mothers’ Union from the fishing net in the Prayer and Spirituality corner and those from the Families display were offered as part of a short service.

We were delighted to receive £140.50 in donations for the Mothers’ Union Overseas Fund.
