a sense that we are going on an adventure with God,
not knowing what is going to happen but being excited
about going with God into the unknown.

Lavenham, that they will feel welcomed and supported
by their new parishioners
- for all those affected by the floods in Pakistan: may
those who have lost homes and possessions receive
the aid they need to survive and to rebuild their lives.

Burwell – 9.30am 3 Oct Harvest Festival Family Service
St. Mary’s will be doing barrows again this year. Please
either prepare one from your group or just bring non-
perishable items along to add on the day. We also need
a few empty barrows. Items collected will be donated to
Cambridge Food Bank & Burwell Homeless Hostel.
* LADIES' HARVEST BREAKFAST 2 Oct at 9am in
the Guildhall with Susan Bowden-Pickstock speaking
on 'Quiet Gardens: an armchair view of some of Britain's
lesser known gardens'. Bacon butties, drinks etc. No
charge - donations welcome. Call Susan on 741791 to book.
* Alasdair Coles is running a course in Chesterton
called 'A DAY TO TREASURE' . It's ‘a seminar for
couples to invest in their relationships'. Sat 9 Oct 9.15am
-5.00pm £25 per person. For more information see the

* OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD 2010 The annual
Shoebox-packing coffee morning will be held in the
Guildhall on Sat 30 Oct from 10.30am till 12noon. Do
please put the date in your diaries and come along.
Covered shoeboxes will once again be available at
the Harvest Service for your personal gifts and leaflets
will be in Church and CentrePeace from the beginning
